Global Healthcare Experience

Healthcare Study Abroad: Ghana

My study abroad experience in Accra, Ghana provided me with valuable insight into global healthcare systems and the impact of resource availability on patient care. While visiting sites such as Ridge Hospital and Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital, I observed how healthcare professionals adapt to challenges while still providing meaningful care to patients. This experience broadened my understanding of health disparities, cultural differences in care, and the importance of flexibility and empathy in healthcare settings. It strengthened my passion for pursuing a career where I can contribute to improving access to quality care and supporting individuals across diverse communities.

This experience strengthened my understanding of patient-centered care, communication, and the importance of adaptability in healthcare settings, while reinforcing my interest in pursuing a career where I can make a meaningful impact on individuals’ health and well-being.
